Katrina Kaif says Vicky Kaushal has a superpower of being 100 percent present as a father after 18 hours of work: 'An indescribable feeling to see Vihaan’s face and know that four years of a journey led to this'

Katrina Kaif has opened up about her life as a mother and her relationship with husband Vicky Kaushal, praising him for being a supportive partner and a hands-on father to their son, Vihaan. The actor spoke about how Vicky manages to balance his demanding work schedule with family life, making time for them even after long working hours.Describing Vicky as an incredible husband, Katrina said she admires his strong family values, practical wisdom and ability to give her the freedom to be herself. She also praised him for being a patient listener and someone who brings a sense of balance to their relationship.“He is an incredible husband. He is wise beyond his years, has strong family values and a true sense of integrity. I would say Vicky is wise in practice, and I am wise in theory.

One of the best things about him is that he always gives me space to be myself while being a great listener, and I can have a lot to say sometimes,” Katrina said in an interview with Vogue India. The actor also spoke about Vicky's approach to fatherhood, revealing that he remains fully present with his family despite working for long hours. She described his ability to switch off from work and focus on their son as a special quality.

“As a father, he’s been amazing. He has this incredible superpower to be 100 per cent present in the moment with Vihaan and me, even when he is tired and has been working 14, 16 or 18 hours a day,” she said.Katrina acknowledged that becoming parents has changed their routine as a couple, with activities they once enjoyed together taking a backseat as they adjust to this new phase of life. However, she said Vicky continues to reassure her that they will find time for themselves again.“Our romantic dinners and movie nights have taken a backseat for now, but Vicky keeps reminding me that everything will find its own time again,” she said.Katrina also addressed the pressure women often face to regain their pre-pregnancy bodies soon after childbirth. Questioning the idea of having to “bounce back”, the actor said motherhood was something she had always wanted and that she did not see it as a phase she needed to move backwards from.“Bounce back? From where?” she said, explaining that becoming a mother was a deeply desired milestone in her life.“I have taken a step ahead to something that was a deep desire in my heart, so why would I want to go back? The first few days after I gave birth, it was an indescribable feeling to see Vihaan’s face and know that four years of a journey for me and Vicky had led to this. I am very aware of my fitness journey and where my body feels at its most energetic.

I will reach there at my own pace,” she said.Katrina and Vicky tied the knot in 2021 and welcomed their son in 2025. The couple have chosen to keep Vihaan away from the public eye.Katrina's comments on postpartum expectations come weeks after she faced online trolling over her appearance during a public outing with Vicky at the Ambani family's Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai in September. While several fans praised the couple, others directed comments at the actor over her post-pregnancy weight.Addressing the wider issue of social media criticism at a recent event in London, Katrina spoke about the importance of protecting one's self-worth from online opinions. She said allowing public commentary to dictate personal choices could affect an individual's confidence and ability to move forward.“I think we really need to be careful in letting the narrative on social media affect our self-worth. If we start trying to cater to all of them, I think that really hampers your ability to make choices for yourself. Personally, if every time I face critique or comments, I let that dictate my actions, I think I would have been paralysed with fear and unable to move ahead in my life,” she said.
