A 29-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated burglary after allegedly shooting and stabbing another man earlier this year.

ACT Policing said the charges were laid after an incident on August 9, when officers responded to reports a man had been stabbed in the head and shot in the leg at about 9pm at a home in Lyneham.

It is alleged the accused, along with two others, forced their way into the unit and shot and stabbed the man.

An investigation was conducted by ACT Policing's major crime division and police said today the man is expected to face court on November 4.

Police said he was on bail when the incident occurred.

Investigators are still confirming the actions of the two other people they allege were there.

Anyone who can assist police is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
