A gun-wielding suspect’s attempt to rob a motor shop in Davao City was thwarted by his would-be victims who decided to fight back.

In her report, Danica Raneses of GMA Regional TV One Mindanao said the incident happened at Matina Aplaya at 1:37 a.m. on Monday.

CCTV footage showed a man wearing a motorcycle helmet enter the shop and armed with a handgun which he pointed at two men inside the establishment.

One of the victims attempted unsuccessfully to grab the suspect’s gun. The suspect fired his weapon, hitting one of the victims on the arm.

The commotion led the suspect to flee without getting any money from the shop.

The wounded victim was taken to a hospital and is in good condition.

Aside from the shop, a woman lost her bag at gunpoint while a mini grocery was held up by the suspect who escaped with P2,000 in cash.

Police said they are currently looking for the suspect. The Davao City Police Office is offering a P500,000 reward to anyone who can give information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.
