Thousands of residents and supporters of the All Progressives Congress in Offa, Kwara State, on Wednesday welcomed the party’s 2027 deputy governorship candidate, Seun Ogunniyi Adato, during his homecoming to the town.
According to a statement made available to PUNCH Online on Wednesday, Adato, an indigene of Offa, was received by party members and community stakeholders in a procession which began at the Offa Eid Praying Ground and passed through major streets before ending at the palace of the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II.
Party supporters displayed banners and chanted in support of Adato, Speaker Yakubu Danladi, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the APC during the procession.
The gathering at the palace was attended by the APC House of Representatives candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, Rafiu Ajakaye; the state Commissioner for Health, Aminat Ahmed El-Imam; a former Kwara State House of Assembly Leader, Hassan Oyeleke; Offa APC Chairman, Adegboye Kunle Papa; serving lawmakers and other party candidates.

Speaking at the palace, Oyeleke thanked Governor AbdulRazaq for selecting an indigene of Offa as the APC deputy governorship candidate.
“Our deepest appreciation goes to Executive Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for doing the right thing at the right time,” he said.
Oyeleke said the choice of Adato addressed what he described as the aspirations of the people of Offa, adding that the delegation had come to seek the Olofa’s blessing ahead of the 2027 campaign.
The Offa APC chairman, Papa, said the visit was part of the town’s traditional consultation before the party embarked on wider political engagements.
