Manchester United youngster called up to training ahead of Chelsea clash

Translate

United head to Stamford Bridge on Saturday seeking to ease the pressure on head coach Michael Carrick.

Man United, however, will be without Benjamin Sesko, Patrick Dorgu and Manuel Ugarte against Chelsea as they are longer-term injury casualties, while Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw are doubtful.

With some senior players absence from training on Thursday, it allowed for a couple of youngsters to be called up by Carrick.

One of which was midfielder Jack Fletcher, son of former United midfielder Darren, who was on the bench against Como in the Champions League last week but is yet to make a first-team appearance this season.

Shah was the other Man Utd starlet put through his paces in training at Carrington.

The 17-year-old was born in Australia and joined the club from Doncaster Rovers before signing scholarship forms in 2025. Shah made his U18s debut for United in February of that year and was a regular for Fletcher's group during the 2025-26 campaign.

While naturally a midfielder, Shah has also played regularly in defence - particularly at right-back - and was on the scoresheet in a 6-0 thrashing of Wolves U18s last month.
