Exclusive: Coronation Street confirms "serious pain" ahead for Jodie Ramsey

Coronation Street star Olivia Frances Brown has teased more explosive drama ahead for her villainous character Jodie Ramsey in her feud with her sister Shona Platt. Since arriving on the cobbles, twisted Jodie has had it out for her sister, and even went as far as trying to seduce her husband David Platt.

In scenes airing next week, Jodie will sink her claws even further into Shona's husband David, as she asks him for a drink while Shona is out.

Elsewhere, Jodie will sabotage her father Doug Ramsey by swapping out his crucial anti-psychotic pills for regular painkillers, causing him to become confused and paranoid. Will Jodie's actions have her dad institutionalised again?

Chatting exclusively to Inside Soap, Olivia reveals that Jodie has a lot more tricks up her sleeve, and that things are going to intensify soon…

"She’s not going to back down easily," Olivia hints.

"There’s a lot more to come from what you’ve seen so far. I’d say, times it by 100. She’s really going to go for it this time. But it doesn’t end particularly well for her. She’s coming into some serious pain…"

Jodie arrived in Weatherfield following the explosive Corriedale crossover episode, after escaping from Graham Foster's van where she was held hostage. With a mysterious backstory behind her which hasn't been fully unravelled, Olivia admits that she still has queries of her own.

"I still have some questions myself, but the root of it is that she grew up with a lack of real love," Olivia says. "That’s stunting her from growing up into an adult who is capable of genuine love. That’s the main core of it for me."
