‘Fast & Furious’ TV series coming to Peacock streaming service

A Fast & Furious TV series has been greenlit at streaming service Peacock ahead of the final movie, Fast Forever.
The original The Fast & The Furious movie was released in 2001 and starred Vin Diesel as a street racing criminal opposite Paul Walker as an FBI officer sent to investigate his crimes. It spawned nine sequels and a handful of spin-offs with the final movie, Fast Forever, currently due to release on March 17, 2028.
Earlier this year, Diesel said a number of Fast & Furious projects were in the works, including a TV show. “As you all know, we are very precious about these movies but over the last decade, we’ve realised that the fans have wanted more, they wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories. And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space,” he told the crowd at NBCUniversal’s Upfront event.
Now Deadline has reported that the series has been greenlit at Peacock. There’s been no announcement about cast but Diesel will serve as executive producer on the project, which is being written by Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman. The show is expected to launch in 2028.

The same year Fast Forever will hit cinemas, after being delayed from April 2027. Diesel has previously hinted that the farewell movie will see the return of Paul Walker’s character Brian O’Conner who was retired following the actor’s death in 2013. Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo will also reportedly have a role in Fast Forever. “We wrote a role for him,” Diesel confirmed on Instagram.
Last year, Diesel dismissed reports that the new Fast & Furious movie was in trouble at Universal. It was claimed that the studio wanted to reduce the film’s budget by cutting some actors and scaling down on globe-trotting adventures. “I have often said creativity is the key to all things. When you maintain the integrity, the rest follows,” Diesel said in a cryptic social media post.
“What we’re building next is going to honour all that you love about Fast while taking you somewhere you’ve never been before,” he continued. “No matter who’s writing the checks, this family answers to you.”
