Marvel fans think they know who Connor Storrie's Ghost Rider villain will be

Translate

Earlier this week, it was reported that Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie is in talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Ghost Rider movie, directed by Deadpool & Wolverine's Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling.

We don't know yet who Storrie is playing (we don't know who Gosling is playing either, for that matter) but that means fans have been having lots of fun speculating.

The Hollywood Reporter has stated that Storrie will be playing a villain, and while fans on Reddit have named multiple comic book baddies, one seems to be popping up more than the others.

"The villain is likely Blackheart, son of Mephisto," wrote one fan, while another said: "Would be sick if he is Blackheart."

"Blackheart would fit him surprisingly well," a third fan mused.

In the comics, Blackheart is a demon created by Mephisto (played in the MCU by Sacha Baron Cohen in the show Ironheart) that originally appeared a tall, jet-black creature with lots of tendrils, but has more recently taken on a human form.

Blackheart famously appeared as a playable fighter in the iconic game Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes and was played by The Hunger Games' Wes Bentley in the Nicholas Cage Ghost Rider film from 2007.

"My first thought was Blackheart but I saw someone else say a younger Ghost Rider and I wouldn't be opposed to that, either," reads another comment, which references an early part of the thread where another fan thought Storrie could play fellow Ghost Rider Danny Ketch.

"I can see it. Him and Johnny don't always get along," the comment reads.

A few people also thought Storrie could be playing Daniel Hestrom, the son of Satan. The character previously appeared in the series Helstrom, which was at first supposed to be connected to the MCU but eventually became its own thing.

Only time will tell...

The new Ghost Rider movie is scheduled for a 28 July, 2028 release.
