Investigators have been examining allegations related to the awarding of civic contracts as well as payments made for the Mithi River desilting and rejuvenation work. The case has also been under the scanner of the Enforcement Directorate. The agency had earlier conducted searches at Morea’s residence as part of its investigation, along with searches at other locations linked to people being examined in connection with the matter.Morea’s arrest comes as the EOW continues its probe into the alleged irregularities surrounding the Mithi River project and the suspected financial loss to the civic body.
