Political activist Morara Kebaso has taken to X to share before-and-after photos of a house he rebuilt for the family of his estranged wife, Mercy Makini, in the Gionseri area of Bobasi, Kisii County. The images highlight a stark transformation from the original modest, clay-walled structure with a rusting iron roof to a modern, fully finished brick home featuring a red roof, expansive black-framed windows, tiled interiors, and a styled staircase entrance.

In his post, Morara provided an itemized account of the construction process to demonstrate his direct involvement. He detailed assembling a multidisciplinary team—including a foreman from Kisii, a lead builder from Nyeri, a plumber from Kakamega, and a local gypsum installer.

He further specified sourcing roofing sheets from Ruiru, tiles from KEDA, and personally selecting furnishings from Eastleigh, Nairobi, noting that he traveled to Kisii nearly every week to oversee the build from foundation to completion.

Morara emphasized that he intentionally prioritized constructing a home for Mercy’s parents before building one for his own family, framing the decision as a personal sacrifice. The public disclosure comes amid an escalating online dispute following Mercy’s recent statement clarifying her departure from the marriage and addressing his comments on polygamy. Morara’s detailed account serves as a direct rebuttal to public criticism and recent online calls for a boycott against businesses associated with him.
