Cyclist killed by motorcycle rider in Pangasinan road crash


BINMALEY, Pangasinan – A cyclist died after he was accidentally struck from behind by a motorcycle rider along a provincial road in Barangay Camaley in Binmaley, Pangasinan, on Thursday morning.
The cyclist was a married, unemployed resident of Binmaley who was steering a black bicycle. He was not wearing a protective helmet.
The accident happened at about 9:20 a.m. as the cyclist and the motorcycle rider were traveling north.

According to police, the 29-year-old motorcycle rider noticed the cyclist appeared to be swerving off the road. As the motorcycle rider was about to overtake him, the victim suddenly lost control of his bicycle, causing the collision.
Both riders fell to the pavement and sustained injuries.
The cyclist was rushed to the Pangasinan Provincial Hospital in Barangay Bolingit, San Carlos City, where he was declared dead on arrival./coa
