This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.

The newest member of the Bat-Family debuts their own Batman mask. Despite his reputation as a brooding lone-wolf vigilante, Batman relies on an extensive support network inside and outside Gotham. While he often claims to work alone, the Dark Knight's war on crime receives help from the various Robins and Batgirls, alongside independent allies like Batwoman and Huntress. Batman also depends on Superman and Wonder Woman's godlike power in their Trinity adventures, and on the rest of the Justice League's skills and resources when protecting the world.

Alfred Pennyworth is Batman’s right-hand man thanks to his complete suite of intellectual and physical skills, masked behind the unassuming facade of a frail butler. Far from a simple domestic servant, Alfred's background in British special forces and field medicine provides Bruce Wayne with an indispensable tactician and surgeon. In truth, the vast majority of Batman's victories would have been impossible without Alfred managing the Batcave and patching up his wounds. Alfred's essential role in the Bat-Family makes his tragic murder at the hands of Bane devastating, as it left an irreplaceable void in the Batcave.

Although Alfred seems to be gone for good several years after his tragic death, Batman's new butler surpasses all expectations.

Verity Pennyworth Debuts Her Vigilante Mask

Verity Pennyworth dons a Batman mask

During Poison Ivy's attempt at a city-wide and worldwide conquest, Batman takes a detour to fight Nora Fries, who almost kills Mister Freeze. Batman ventures into Nora and Victor's new base with the help of his new butler, Verity Pennyworth, who demonstrates her own physical skills for the first time by singlehandedly stopping a home invasion at Wayne Manor without telling Batman what's happening. While fighting the masked invasors, Verity picks up one of the masks they're wearing: a cheap plastic Batman mask.

Verity Pennyworth promised to fulfill the same duties as her uncle Alfred as soon as she arrived. Even though Alfred left the bar exceedingly high, Verity has been filling his shoes quite well. So far, Alfred's niece has done everything just as efficiently, from assisting Batman remotely in his battles to fighting multiple threats simultaneously using nothing but her martial arts expertise. Neither Alfred nor Verity have the same training as Batman, let alone Batman's gadget skills, but they know how to keep Wayne Manor and the Batcave safe when Brue Wayne isn't around.
