Fuerza Regida is asking for the return of 22 live videos stolen from the group’s director — and offering a reward for the hard drives or memory cards containing the footage.
In a video posted to the band’s Instagram account Saturday (Oct. 17), frontman Jesús Ortiz Paz (JOP) also announced, “We’re working with Rancho Humilde in good faith to put out music for the fans, for everyone who supports us.”
In the clip, JOP said the group traveled to Mexico City to record a live album and accompanying videos for 22 songs. While the music remains intact, the visual material was stolen after the car belonging to the group’s director, Miguel, was broken into.
“The good news is that we still have the music, but the videos are gone,” JOP said. “The memory cards were stolen, and we’re asking whoever has them to please return them. We just want to make our fans happy, and we worked really hard to record those videos.”
JOP said the people who took the equipment could keep the computer and cameras, but asked them to return the hard drives and memory cards. “We got a reward,” he added. “A gift, money, whatever they want to call it.”
The band also posted a written statement on Instagram, offering a reward for information that helps recover the material and asking anyone with knowledge of the theft to send a direct message. The post included the hashtag #PisteandoConLaRegidaVol4, which may reference the upcoming live project, though Fuerza Regida has not publicly confirmed that as its title. The video had been viewed more than nine million times as of publication.
The “good” and “bad” news, as JOP described, comes amid Fuerza Regida’s ongoing legal dispute with Rancho Humilde, the California-based independent label that signed the group in 2018. The two sides have been involved in opposing legal actions over contractual control, outside collaborations, releases, touring agreements, royalties and creative independence. In its recent written statement, Fuerza said it was “advancing with Rancho Humilde to resolve our differences and work together in the best way possible.”
Fuerza Regida is scheduled to participate in a Superstar Q&A at Billboard Latin Music Week in Miami on Tuesday (Oct. 20). The group is also set to perform during the week’s En Vivo event. The appearance follows Billboard’s Oct. 9 cover story on the band, which explored Fuerza’s stadium tour, Street Mob Records and its next era.
