We all know that some anime series can stand the test of time when it comes to their sheer number of episodes, and Bleach is one example of that. It may not stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the likes of One Piece, but with 366 episodes under its belt, it cemented itself as one of the most iconic anime of all time.

Airing from 2004 to 2012, with a follow-up series, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, running from 2022 to 2026, Bleach finds itself in the hall of fame when it comes to the biggest shows of all time, but as with any successful anime, it is not limited to television, as Bleach is set to welcome a brand-new video game entry, and this time, Ichigo Kurosaki will not be at the helm.

BLEACH Mirrors High is an upcoming iOS and Android mobile game which, as you can probably guess, takes place in the Bleach universe. Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the free-to-play action game offers players a never-before-seen story which takes place after the events of Thousand-Year Blood War. So, put simply, if you are caught up with both the main anime and spin-off series, this new story picks up right where you left off, and better yet, it will be completely free to play when it arrives on mobile today, 28 October.

In order to rally the fans, Bandai Namco has previously released the opening movie that will be seen in the game, and with PIERROT FILMS animation at the helm, it is clear to see that this upcoming mobile game is in safe hands.

Over on Google Play, the official synopsis for BLEACH Mirrors High reads as follows:

Dive into BLEACH Mirrors High, an officially licensed game created in close collaboration with BLEACH creator Tite Kubo. Experience a brand new storyline set after the Thousand-Year Blood War. Meet a fresh cast of characters exclusively designed by the legendary mangaka, and stand alongside favorites like Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki, with in-game character voices from the original Japanese anime cast.

Take your place as the protagonist, begin your journey as a Soul Reaper, and step into battle to experience the story as the Soul Reaper you've always wanted to be!

Although Ichigo Kurosaki will be a familiar character in BLEACH Mirrors High, he will not be the protagonist. Instead, you will get to create your very own. Courtesy of deep avatar customization, you will be able to choose your appearance and style, shape your Zanpakutō, and "make the character truly yours."

Once you have created your character, you will be able to embark on both a never-before-seen story set in the Bleach universe, as well as stylish and tactical combat. By commanding your team, combining attack cards, and activating Soul Drive, you can unleash powerful combos that will change the course of battle in your favor.
