The Strokes Join SNL Five-Timers Club With Dazzling Visuals and Walton Goggins

Translate

The Strokes joined Saturday Night Live’s Five-Timers Club this week with a pair of performances featuring dazzling visuals, a show of support for Palestine, and an unexpected cameo from Walton Goggins.

Supporting their latest album, Reality Awaits, the New York alt-rockers performed “Lonely in the Future” and “Going Shopping.” Both performances featured trippy green screen-assisted visuals, elaborate lighting, and a Palestinian flag displayed on the drumhead of Fabrizio Moretti’s kit. For “Going Shopping,” Goggins joined the band on bongos, recreating his appearance in the song’s music video.

Guitarist Nick Valensi, who has been on leave from The Strokes since earlier this year for undisclosed reasons, was absent for the SNL appearance.
