The Oyo State Government, on Sunday, congratulated the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress in the state, Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, on his emergence as the President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria.

The Acting Governor of the state, Bayo Lawal, in a statement issued by the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on media, Sulaimon Olarenwaju, in Ibadan, the state capital, described Olabiyi-Agoro’s emergence as a good development for the association.

The Acting Governor noted that Olabiyi-Agoro’s experience, exposure and patriotism would be brought to bear in taking PENGASSAN to the next level.

Lawal lauded the state TUC chairman for being a worthy ambassador of Oyo, who has continued to excel as a pacesetter in line with the state’s identity.

The statement partly read, “Governor Makinde is delighted that a leading Labour unionist in the state, who has worked with the administration towards instituting better welfare package for the workforce, has emerged as leader of a foremost trade union group like PENGASSAN.

“I have just been informed that the state chairman of TUC, Olabiyi-Agoro, has emerged as the President of PENGASSAN. This is another positive development and a testament to the excellence that our great state has been renowned for over the years. I congratulate Olabiyi-Agoro, a man of purpose, whose commitment to labour unionism and workers’ advancement has never been disguised, on emerging as the President of PENGASSAN.

“His emergence as president is a positive development for the association, and I have no doubt that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear on moving the association forward. While celebrating him, I want to equally restate that the Makinde administration will continue to work harmoniously with labour unions and their leaders in the state with a view to achieving the objective of delivering better welfare to workers and good governance to the generality of the people,” Lawal, the Acting Governor assured in the statement.
