After an underwhelming August, Bollywood bounced back big time at the Indian box office in September. In fact, it not only beat the collections in August but also emerged as the second-best month of 2026, next to March. Hanuman Ansh and Mirzapur The Movie surprised everyone!
Released in August, Hanuman Ansh saw an unbelievable resurgence at the Indian box office last month. Minting historic collections week after week, the devotional drama amassed a mind-blowing 266.65 crore net, becoming the top contributor of September. It was followed by Mirzapur The Movie, which too, exceeded expectations and scored a huge 232.02 crore net. With the benefit of established popular characters, the film was expected to do well, but no one thought it would score above 200 crore.
The Vvaan contributed decently
Riding on decent word-of-mouth, The Vvaan performed well, contributing 50.25 crore net. The rest of the movies earned less than 20 crore, including Vibe (15.07 crore), Haiwaan (9.92 crore), Daayra (8.22 crore), and Awarapan 2 (1.62 crore).
