A refrigerator explosion and subsequent fire tragically killed four family members in Belagavi

BELAGAVI: Four members of a family were killed and two others critically injured after a refrigerator reportedly exploded and triggered a fire at their house in Chavat Galli, near the Central Bus Stand, late on Monday night.The fire engulfed the house within minutes, trapping the occupants inside and leaving them with little chance to escape. The incident occurred while the family was observing Ganesh Chaturthi, shocking residents in the area.The deceased have been identified as Gajanan Damone, 65; Sharada Damone, 45; Bharati Damone, 50; and Roshan Damone, 21.Priya Damone, 28, and Ganga Damone, 25, suffered serious injuries and were shifted to a hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.The incident has left the family’s relatives devastated, particularly as it occurred during the festival celebrations. The fire broke out within the limits of the Market police station.The exact cause of the refrigerator explosion and the subsequent fire is yet to be established. Police are investigating the incident.
