LIST: LTFRB releases approved fare hikes for buses, TNVS

MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) released the approved fare adjustments for buses and other public transportations, which will take effect on Monday, Sept. 28.

In an advisory posted on Facebook, the LTFRB said the fare adjustment for ordinary Metro and City buses is rated at P15 for the first kilometer, with an additional P2.49 for the succeeding kilometers.

Meanwhile, fare rates for air conditioned Metro and City buses will start at P18 for the first kilometer, and P2.98 in the kilometers that will follow.

Point-to-Point buses will also get a 15% increase based on their respective routes.

For provincial buses, the first kilometer will increase by P12, meanwhile rates for the succeeding kilometers are as follows:

• P2.20 para sa Ordinary Bus
• P2.45 para sa Air Conditioned Bus
• P2.60 para se Deluxe Bus
• P2.70 para sa Super Deluxe Bus
• P3.35 para sa Luxury Bus

On the other hand, the fare adjustment for Transport Vehicle Services, also known as TNVS, are as follows:

• P65 para sa Sedan
• P75 para sa AUV/SUB
• P55 para sa Hatchback
• P165 para sa Premium

Its pick-up fare, meanwhile, starts at P15 per kilometer.

“The implementation of the fare hike will begin on Monday, September 28, 2026,” the announcement said.

The Department of Transportation earlier said that it approved the recommendation of the LTFRB to lift the suspension of the imposed fare increase to public utility vehicles (PUVs) last March.

Several transport groups had rallied to decry the impact of rising fuel prices.

They previously announced their plans to stage another nationwide rally from Sept. 29 to 30, where around 100,000 PUV drivers and operators are expected to turn up. /apl
