Rescuers stunned as ‘dead’ dog wakes up on truck in Kamphaeng Phet

KAMPHAENG PHET — 4 October 2026, A dog believed to have died suddenly woke up on a rescue truck after volunteers were asked to take its body away for burial, leaving rescuers stunned and the internet amused.

The unusual incident was captured on video and went viral, attracting more than 4 million views overnight.

A Facebook user, “Namta Khon Lew,” posted the video with the caption: “Help! A terrifying incident in broad daylight. Rescuers were haunted by a ghost dog.”

The Kamphaeng Phet Khao Phap Rescue Association had been called by a local resident to collect what appeared to be the body of a dog and bury it.

The dog was wrapped in white cloth and placed on the rescue vehicle. However, around five minutes after it was loaded onto the truck, the dog suddenly got up.

The unexpected movement startled the rescue volunteers, who initially joked that they had been “haunted” by the dog.

On 4 October 2026, a reporter visited the Kamphaeng Phet Khao Phap Rescue Association in Nakhon Chum subdistrict, Mueang district, and spoke with 53-year-old volunteer Theera Phuengphat.

Theera said the incident occurred at around 14:30 in Moo 1, behind Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University.

A resident had asked the rescue team to collect a male dog that was lying motionless in front of a house and appeared to have died. The volunteers wrapped the dog in white cloth and took it to their office, intending to bury it.

About five minutes after the dog was placed on the vehicle, it suddenly came back to life.

The rescuers stopped the vehicle and let the dog down, after which it ran away.

The incident was later posted online and quickly attracted millions of views and comments.

Theera said the bizarre experience left the rescue team baffled and was the first case of its kind they had encountered.
