Neeraj, you beauty!
That’s more like it Neeraj! Sends the javelin sailing for an 88.05 metre throw, goes top of the standings! Take that! This is also now his personal best throw of the season, and his first 88m-plus throw since last year’s Paris Diamond League in June.

Walcott rises to fourth
Pathirage and Neeraj look on a different level today as Keshorn Walcott goes fourth with a 77.64 metre throw. If you thought that effort was miles off, hold your thought because Switzerland’s Simon Wieland can only manage a 66.40 metre throw in his first attempt.

Minichello faults, Felfner throws 74.21 metres
Marc Anthony Minichello, a last minute replacement for Julian Weber, does a foul throw in his first attempt which means both Americans in the field are yet to register a score on the board in the first round.
Ukraine’s Arthur Felfner, meanwhile registers a throw of 74.21 metres to go fifth.

Here we go!

Can Neeraj breach the 90 metre mark again?
Only two men have breached the 90 metre mark this season- Julian Weber and Rumesh Pathirage.
Neeraj’s best throw this season is 85.83 metre, a feat he achieved at the Commonwealth Games 2026, and the Indian has only breached the 90 metre mark once- at the Doha Diamond League in 2025, with a 90.23 metre throw.
Can the 28-year-old do it for a second time in Lausanne and join an exclusive club?
