FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets will try to snap a two-game losing streak Sunday without four starters on offense.

Running back Breece Hall, wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, tight end Mason Taylor and left guard Dylan Parham were ruled out Friday for the Jets' road game against the Chicago Bears (2-1). None of them practiced this week.

The offense played well without Mitchell (finger) and Taylor (thumb) last week in their 31-24 loss to the Detroit Lions. Hall (quadriceps) and Parham (knee) were injured in the game, testing the team's depth.

Braelon Allen replaces Hall, who missed only two games in the previous three seasons. Allen, in his third season as Hall's backup, has never rushed more than 12 times in a game in his career.

"It's exciting to know there's going to be a little more on my plate," said Allen, who has 19 carries for 61 yards and one touchdown. "I've been ready for this. This is a good opportunity. I'm super excited for it."

Third-year backup Isaiah Davis, yet to play an offensive snap, is expected to get some work in the backfield as well.

The rushing attack is supposed to be the strength of the offense, but it has generated only 125 yards in the last two games.

"We're not going to get emotionally hijacked by results," offensive coordinator Frank Reich said. "Yes, it matters an incredible amount. Yes, there's an incredible sense of urgency to get results that we and everybody wants, but the best teams and the best players, what we do is we focus on the process and that's where we get the results."

Jordan Meredith, acquired in a preseason trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, will replace Parham. Meredith, who has 20 career starts, missed a blitz pick-up that resulted in a sack-fumble at the end of last week's game.

Isaiah Williams figures to replace Mitchell again in the starting lineup, with Sterling Shepard again filling the No. 3 role. They plan to elevate Shepard from the practice squad for the second straight week.

Injuries have crushed the Jets at wide receiver. Rookie Omar Cooper Jr., Tim Patrick and Arian Smith are on injured reserve.

There's excellent depth at tight end, so they're positioned to absorb the loss of Taylor. Rookie Kenyon Sadiq figures to have an expanded role for the second straight week. In Detroit, he caught seven passes for 105 yards and a touchdown.

It's a different story on defense. With safety Minkah Fitzpatrick returning from a two-game groin injury, the Jets (1-2) are expected to have 10 of 11 starters. The only missing starter is defensive tackle David Onyemata (injured reserve).
