P.V. Sindhu has withdrawn from the Korea Open (November 3-8) and Japan Masters (November 10-15), just a day after winning the Hylo Open Super 500 title in Saarbrucken on Sunday. The double Olympic medallist signed off on a high note, beating Denmark’s Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt in straight games to clinch the women’s singles crown, while Lakshya Sen completed a memorable double for India by winning the men’s title.
Precision and control
Former world champion Sindhu, who also won the Japan Open in July and finished runner-up at the French Open last week, produced a controlled and assured display to register a commanding 21-12, 21-14 victory over eighth seed and world No. 25 Kjaersfeldt in a 39-minute final.
The Indian dictated the rallies with precise strokeplay, using her reach and court coverage to keep the Dane under pressure and seal her latest BWF World Tour title.
