EUROMATCH NPFL: It’s Two Points Dropped For Us — Ogunbote Reacts To Plateau United’s Draw At Doma

Plateau United head coach Gbenga Ogunbote has described his side’s 2-2 draw away to Doma United as two points drop.

Ogunbote’s side came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Doma in Wednesday’s matchday 5 EUROMATCH-NPFL clash which took place inside the Pantami Stadium in Gombe.

Doma United raced to a 2-0 lead thanks to a brace from Michael Adegbite in the 35th and 47th minutes.

Plateau United then staged a strong comeback as Gideon Monday pulled one back in the 58th minute before Paul Samson equalised in the 77th minute.

The draw saw Doma occupy third place on 10 points while Plateau are in sixth spot on eight points in the league table.

Reflecting after the tough encounter, Ogunbote told reporters:”I thank God because we were able to get this one point from two goals behind. It wasn’t an easy one but I think we were very careless to have conceded those goals. But like I did say before now as much as we’ve appreciated the one point to us it’s two points loss.”

Ogunbote reiterated the lack of chemistry in his team but assured that it will be sorted out as the season continues, while urging their fans to keep supporting the team.

“All we need from our fans is to give us the required support in whatever capacity,” he said. “Like I said it’s a work in progress, we have more of the new players playing and the synergy has not actually manifested. But as we play more games we will be getting the understanding.”
