Sources: Balogun to Everton deal could hit $54M

Everton have sealed a deal for for Folarin Balogun with Monaco accepting a bid of around £35 million ($47.5m) on Monday for the United States international, sources told ESPN.

The fee could rise to £40 million ($54 million) with add-ons, sources added, with Balogun set to travel to Merseyside for a medical on Tuesday.

ESPN reported on Sunday that the Premier League team had identified the U.S. striker as a leading target in the event of being able to offload Guinea-Bissau international forward Beto.

Sources added Monday that moves had accelerated to seal a deal for former Arsenal and Middlesbrough player Balogun following Beto's £15 million move to Serie A side Fiorentina.

Everton manager David Moyes wants to make several additions to his squad before Tuesday's 23:00 BST (18:00 ET) transfer deadline.

A move for Tottenham forward Richarlison has stalled due to Turkish interest in the former frontman, while Iliman Ndiaye is leaving Goodison Road for Manchester City, ESPN sources said Monday.

Everton are also trying to secure a deal for Jack Grealish following the Manchester City winger's loan spell at the club last season while interest remains in Sunderland defender Trai Hume.

Balogun scored 24 goals across 74 appearances since joining Monaco in 2023, including a stellar campaign in last year's Champions League where he scored his first European goal against Bodo/Glimt in November of 2025 and had a brace in a 3-2 knockout round loss to Paris Saint-Germain in February.
