As All Hallows' Eve approaches, the creatures of the night are stirring once more at Passionflix. The season of horror is a perfect time for audiences to sink their fangs into vampire stories of all kinds, from the scary, like Nosferatu, to the silly, like What We Do in the Shadows. For those who prefer their immortal bloodsuckers on the sexier side, though, that's where The Black Dagger Brotherhood comes in. The steamy series based on J.R. Ward's paranormal romance novels of the same name is set to return to the romantic streamer on October 29, when it will bring to life the bestselling second book, Lover Eternal, and the story of Rhage and Mary Luce.
The Black Dagger Brotherhood Season 2 sees Dear White People's Alexander Cubis reprise his role as Rhage, one of the most powerful warriors in the titular elite band of vampires. However, beneath his fierce facade is a curse that turns him into an uncontrollable force that threatens everyone and everything around him, friend or foe. After centuries of becoming accustomed to the isolation and risk that comes from the raging beast inside him, his life takes a turn when Mary suddenly finds herself in the Brotherhood's world. Played by Law & Order: SVU alum Audrey Hare, she's unexpectedly placed under Rhage's protection as her future looks more uncertain than ever and her belief in miracles has long since faded. Rhage experiences instant attraction that grows into feelings he's long since left behind, making him desire a better life for the first time, assuming they can each overcome the battles ahead of them.
With the season premiere one month away, Collider can exclusively share the first official teaser exploring the unlikely romance between the vampire and human. It begins with a showcase of Rhage's condition, which, in addition to making him more animalistic and out of control, also appears to be actively killing him. He struggles at times to even get into bed under his own power, and his fellow vampires make it clear his time is running out. At least, for a creature of the night, that is. Mary, however, seems to tap into his softer side, as his more voracious tendencies give way to a gentlemanly nature and fears that he could hurt her if his curse flares up. Their relationship gives way to moments both steamy and tender, including a moonlit stroll through the park where Mary finally has the freedom to imagine holding the moon in her palm.

Who Else Stars in 'The Black Dagger Brotherhood' Season 2?
After Season 1 followed the romance between Wrath (Robert Maaser) and Beth Randall (Olivia Applegate) and captured viewers with its swoonworthy supernatural storytelling, Season 2 of the steamy vampire hit is setting itself up as "a story of desire, sacrifice, and a love powerful enough to reach the man behind the monster." Cubis and BDB newcomer Hare will join three other new additions this time around, including Mariah Davis (SWAT Exiles) as Bella, Bobby Hogan (Chicago P.D.) as John Matthew, and Jon Haslam (Nashville) as Mr. O. Both Maaser and Applegate, meanwhile, are among the returning faces, joining Michael Roark, Andrew Biernat, Sia Zami, Joel Cederberg, Zack Ignoffo, Victory Van Tuyl, Kim Whalen, and Darrell Snedeger. Passionflix veteran Tosca Musk is back at the helm as director too, having previously worked on Driven, The Matchmaker's Playbook, and the entire Gabriel saga from Inferno to Redemption.
