Coronation Street airs Jodie Ramsey suspicions as her David Platt obsession continues in early ITVX release

Has Doug Ramsey (Steve Evets) just discovered his daughter Jodie's (Olivia Frances Brown) plot in Coronation Street?

For months, the enigmatic cobbles resident has been fixated on gaining the affection of her brother-in-law David Platt (Jack P Shepherd). On one instance, she even managed to lure him into bed.

Despite David's insistence that she should leave, Jodie has stuck around and managed to get her feet back under the table. In recent weeks, she's made sister Shona (Julia Goulding) feel that she's unable to look after her infant daughter Harper, and has pretty much taken over parenting the youngster.

Using a voice note of the baby crying, she keeps waking Shona from naps and making her believe that the baby is going uncared for.

This has also allowed Jodie to get closer to David, seemingly setting up what she perceives as the perfect familial situation. In one instance, David made a boring joke, Jodie laughed along over-enthusiastically. Doug sat to the side, noticing the bizarre interaction.

In today's episode, Jodie showed up at Audrey's Salon and asked David to give her a blow-dry before a date that evening. It was clear that this was an attempt to make him jealous, but it didn't work.

He said that she should go out and enjoy herself after everything she'd done for Harper in the recent weeks.

Realising that her plan wasn't working, she pulled out her phone and pretended to read a text that was cancelling her date. She put on the waterworks, before producing a bottle of Prosecco from her bag and asking David if he wanted to join her for a drink.

He complied, though as the two hugged, Doug watched on from afar.

When he outright accused his daughter of trying to seduce her sister's husband, Jodie denied everything, branding him "deluded" and "paranoid".

Could Doug be the one who exposes Jodie's bizarre behaviour?

Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 or can be streamed from 7am on ITVX.
