AmaZulu FC announce partnership with Spanish La Liga club

The partnership will focus on the development of young players and improving AmaZulu’s academy through international football expertise and activities.

AmaZulu CEO Sinenjabulo Zungu-Ntuli explained that the agreement is part of the club’s plans to take its academy to another level.

“We’re very excited about this partnership. It’s going to come with a lot of activities and development for the young players of AmaZulu,” Zungu-Ntuli stated.

“It’s one step to ensure that our academy is at the level we want it to be at.”

AMAZULU FC BUILD ON RECENT PROGRESS

The agreement comes after a strong period of progress for AmaZulu. Under owner and chairman Sandile Zungu, the Durban club have worked to establish a more competitive and structured environment.

That progress was reflected in their 2025/26 campaign, when AmaZulu finished fourth in the South African Premiership.

The club will now look to build on that progress by strengthening its youth development structures. Zimbabwean striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya is leading the charge this season.

LEVANTE BRING SPANISH EXPERIENCE

Levante UD are a historic Spanish club based in Valencia. They were founded in 1909 and play their home matches at the Ciutat de València Stadium.

The club have spent much of their history competing between Spain’s top two divisions.

Levante have also developed young players and have had several notable footballers represent the club over the years, including Johan Cruyff, Predrag Mijatović and Ian Harte.

The partnership gives AmaZulu an opportunity to expose their young players and academy structures to experience from the Spanish football system.
