Brazil forward Rapinha is set to miss the friendly against India on October 3 with a suspected right thigh injury.
The 29-year-old was subbed at the half-time interval, shortly after scoring from the spot in his side’s 4-2 win against Australia on Tuesday.
The Brazil Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed that Raphinha was taken off because of muscle discomfort.
Raphinha’s injury is a big blow for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, considering the forward has enjoyed a prolific start to the season, having scored 12 goals in seven La Liga matches for Barcelona, along with three assists.
No replacement is expected to be named and Raphinha will return to Barcelona for further treatment, according to reports.
