Kenyans React to Wizkid’s KSh 2 Million VIP Package for Nairobi Show
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has sparked debate among Kenyan music fans after details of a KSh 2 million VIP package for his upcoming Nairobi performance emerged online.
The singer is scheduled to headline the Detty Dezemba Festival on December 12, 2026, with the premium offer attracting attention over its price tag and the exclusive benefits promised to those willing to pay for the experience.
Dubbed the OGBAFIA Table, the package accommodates up to 30 guests and includes a private section, dedicated security and personal service throughout the event.
Other perks include a KSh 1 million bar tab, a photo session with the artists, 20 parking stickers and exclusive pick-up and drop-off services.
What Wizkid’s KSh 2 million VIP package offers
The package has prompted questions about whether the benefits justify the cost, with some fans comparing the offer to ordinary concert tickets.
Shared among 30 guests, the KSh 2 million package works out to approximately KSh 66,667 per person, assuming the group splits the bill equally.
The KSh 1 million bar tab accounts for half of the package’s advertised price, while the private section, security, artist photo session and transport arrangements make up the other listed benefits.
However, some fans have questioned the practical value of the perks, particularly the bar tab and the arrangements for parking and transport.
One social media user, @iamatieno, joked about the price while expressing hope that Wizkid would release a song bearing her name.
“Wekeni ya KSh 3m mniite…… hopefully Wizkid aingie studio atoe track inaitwa Atieno Ongong’a,” she wrote.
Another user, @joel, humorously questioned the amount, writing: “KSh 2 million Kenyatta Dollars? kwani inafaa niende na yeye Lagos hadi next year December😂,”
Fans question the value of the exclusive experience
Other reactions focused on whether all the advertised benefits would be worth the expense, with some raising questions about how the package would work in practice.
@The Lovee Child questioned what would happen to any money left on the KSh 1 million bar tab if the group failed to use the entire amount.
“The perks on the packages are what’s confusing me. 30 people sharing a KSh 1 million bar tab. What happens if you don’t exhaust the tab? Is the balance refundable or does it go to waste?”
Questions were also raised about the value of the artist photo session and the inclusion of 20 parking stickers alongside the promised pick-up and drop-off services.
The reactions reflect differing views among fans, with some seeing the package as a luxury group experience while others want more clarity on the terms and conditions attached to the benefits.
Wizkid set for Nairobi performance
Wizkid’s upcoming appearance has generated anticipation among fans eager to watch the Nigerian star perform in Kenya.
The December 12 festival will also feature South African DJ and producer Uncle Waffles, with more performers expected to be announced.
While standard admission tickets provide a more affordable option for fans, the OGBAFIA Table has become a talking point because of its KSh 2 million price tag.
