Coronation Street first look at Kit's baby bombshell

Coronation Street's Kit Green faces a major shock next week when he runs into Bethany Platt as she's on her way out of an ultrasound scan.

Bethany does her best to evade Kit and her mum Sarah, but she gets caught and Kit learns that Bethany's pregnant.

The look on her face suggests he may be right to fear the worst.

The scene airs in Wednesday's episode (11 November).

"Is everything alright?" Kit asks Bethany. She tries her best to hide the real reason for her hospital visit, only for Sarah to press her with questions about the scan.

"Scan? Are you ill?" Kit asks.

"Oh no, it's not that kind of scan," Sarah replies. "Bethany didn't want to say anything until she knew everything was alright. But now that everything is alright, I hope you're going to be fine with the fact you're going to be dating a grandma."

Sarah and Bethany share a hug, while Bethany looks up to Kit with a look of shame and fear in her eyes.

It's a double hit of drama for Kit next week.

The Weatherfield detective, struggling to cope with his gruelling chemotherapy, collapses while his ex-fiancée Sarah rushes to his aid.

What will it mean to him if he also discovers he's about to become a father?

"This is Kit's worst nightmare – he and Bethany have tried to put their moment of madness behind them, but it's not going to be that simple," explains our Weatherfield insider.

"Bethany has deliberately kept Kit in the dark about her pregnancy because she didn't want to face the many questions it'll bring up. Top of the list: 'Am I the father?'"

Ever since his breakup with Sarah, Kit has become increasingly withdrawn, even while Sarah does her best to support him.

"Kit has tried his best to put a lot of distance between himself and Bethany – as much as he can without raising suspicion," continues our spy. "He hoped they could forget about their terrible decision to have a one-night stand, but it's come back to bite them.

"He doesn't know if the baby is his, but he does know that he could be the father. What he and Bethany did is unforgivable, and Sarah has no idea. All she wants is to put their family back together and look forward to the new arrival."
