Smiling killer buys knife in shop hours before ‘brutal and senseless’ murder

A teenager bought a a knife and travelled more than 150 miles to fatally stab a man his family had accused of stalking.
Sulaiman Tajzai, 18, of Leeds, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey on Friday (11 September) to the murder of 26-year-old Farmanullah Sherzad, the Metropolitan Police said.
Tajzai also admitted a charge of possession of a bladed article and is due to be sentenced on 18 September.
Jurors previously heard that Tajzai purchased the weapon from a shop close to his home in Leeds and travelled to the victim’s address in Westminster, London, the same day.
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: "This is a devastating case in which a young man lost his life after being subjected to a brutal and senseless act of violence.”
