Nasarawa SDP coordinator killed after abduction in Doma

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa State, Muhammad Adamu, has called on security agencies to investigate the killing of his coordinator in Alagye Electoral Ward, Doma Local Government Area by suspected kidnappers.
The body of Baba Alhaji has been found, according to a condolence message posted by Mr Adamu, a retired inspector-general of police, on his official Facebook page.
His killing has also drawn a reaction from Danladi Ekpo, the national president of the Nasarawa State Students Association (NASSA), who identified the deceased as his cousin, popularly known as Young Money.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Mr Ekpo mourned the deceased.
“Today he is a victim of circumstances, a victim of kidnapping. My brother died in the hands of kidnappers. Nigeria failed him, Nasarawa State failed him, Doma failed him, Alagye failed him,” he said.
Mr Ekpo described his cousin as a dependable relative who supported him, particularly during his election as NASSA national president.
“Baban Alhaji was a cousin who looked after me as though there was no tomorrow. His constant visits, his check-ups, and his support, especially during my election, will never be forgotten,” he said.
He described the death as a painful loss and prayed for the repose of his cousin’s soul.
In his condolence message, Mr Adamu said the killing was a loss to his political family, the deceased’s relatives and the wider community.
“This painful incident is a great loss to our political family, his loved ones, and the entire community. No words can adequately express the grief we feel over this unfortunate development,” he said.

The SDP candidate extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, associates and members of his support group. He also prayed that Allah forgives the deceased’s shortcomings and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus.
Mr Adamu called on security agencies to investigate the incident, identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
PREMIUM TIMES contacted Ramhan Nansel, the police public relations officer in Nasarawa State, for a response. He had not responded at the time of filing this report.
The circumstances surrounding the abduction and killing, including the identities of those responsible, remain unclear.
