Egyptian, Moroccan FMs discuss bilateral ties, regional issues

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad Nasser Bourita on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nader Zaki said Abdelatty underscored the special nature of the bilateral relations and historic ties between Egypt and Morocco, stressing the two countries’ keenness to further strengthen cooperation across various fields.

He also praised the outcomes of the first session of the Egyptian-Moroccan Coordination and Follow-up Committee and stressed the importance of building on them to advance economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries.

At the regional level, the two ministers exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, notably the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause and developments in Sudan and Libya.

They stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultations to support regional security and stability and strengthen joint Arab and African action.
