The Legend Of Zelda: The Master Collection Is Officially Combining Multiple Eras

With fans celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda franchise this year, it is no wonder that Nintendo has been spoiling us with a myriad of epic announcements and releases.

In November, we can expect the launch of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, which has definitely been a long time coming. Releasing for the Nintendo Switch 2, this will be the first remake of the beloved 1998 title since Ocarina of Time 3D launched on the Nintendo 3DS back in 2011.

In recent days, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has found itself back in the spotlight after Nintendo released some epic DLC three years on from the game's launch. On top of that, fans have been subjected to plenty of rumors, from potential remakes to merchandise, and everything in between.

However, another release that has now been officially confirmed is a brand-new trading card series inspired by all things The Legend of Zelda. The Legend of Zelda: Master Collection trading card set by the Italian company, Panini will feature art from various entries from across the last four decades.

On top of a classic-looking Link, we can also see Zelda from Skyward Sword, Link from Tears of the Kingdom and, of course, no collection would be complete without some beautiful art inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, the entry that many regard as their favorite.

Although Panini is best known for its focus on World Cup cards and sticker albums, it seems as though it is turning its attention to one of the biggest franchises in the world, and whilst information remains scarce about the full list of contents for The Legend of Zelda: Master Collection, a released screenshot reveals the look of the box, some of the cards with designs I have already mentioned, and even the book where you can store the cards to keep them safe.

Unlike other TCG games, these Zelda cards do not seem to include any mechanics or statistics, and just feature some beautiful art. However, we have not yet seen the back of the cards, or the full collection, so we may see more when Panini reveals the full content list, as well as that all important release date and price.

On top of the upcoming release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, fans can also look forward to a live-action movie adaptation based on the Zelda franchise, starring Benjamin Evan Ainsworth in the role of Link and Bo Bragason as Zelda. It is set to hit cinemas on 30 April 2027, and is just another example of an incredible project that fans can look forward to over four decades on from a franchise that has now cemented itself as a household name.
