Luciano Spalletti and Fabio Pisacane were both sent off at the end of the 1-1 Serie A draw between Cagliari and Juventus on Sunday evening in a moment of headloss on the touchline immediately after the full-time whistle.

It was a frustrating evening for Juventus at the Unipol Domus: Daniel Maldini fired the hosts into a 20th-minute lead and it took the Bianconeri until the 81st minute to find the equaliser through Randal Kolo Muani. The Bianconeri finished the game with 70% possession and 21 shots on goal.

The frustrations boiled over at the full-time whistle. Pisacance booted the ball up in the air in his technical area before high-fiving a couple of members of his coaching staff before making his way over for the customary post-match handshake with his opposite number.
Spalletti approached Pisacane, visibly frustrated and clearly taking a stern tone towards the Cagliari boss. Spalletti also appeared angered when Pisacane gripped him by the elbow while this exchange was unfolding.
Spalletti then leant in towards Pisacane while still shouting just before the pair were separated by their colleagues.
Spalletti looked stunned when he was shown a red card by referee Matteo Marcenaro shortly afterwards, as did Pisacane when he received the same punishment a few moments later.

Both will have to serve one-match suspensions assuming that their red cards are upheld, which will mean Spalletti will have to miss Juve’s match at home against Lazio next Sunday and Pisacane will have to do the same for Cagliari’s trip to Monza.
