As was the case for season 1, both of the first two episodes of MobLand season 2 were directed by Ritchie, reteaming him with Harry da Souza actor Hardy for a new gritty chapter.

At the time of writing, MobLand is the 7th most-watched TV show on Paramount+ in the United States, standing above series like the sci-fi Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the animated classic SpongeBob SquarePants, and Team Moms: Baseball, on the streamer's domestic chart. At the top of the list is South Park. When it comes to Paramount+'s global Top 10 TV Shows chart, Hardy and Ritchie's crime thriller series is fighting for the top spot, as MobLand is currently the streamer's 3rd most-watched TV show worldwide (via FlixPatrol). The two series above it globally are South Park, in 2nd, and Lioness, in 1st.

MobLand's BTS Controversy Is Not Impacting Its Paramount+ Success

MobLand season 2 debuted after a complicated moment for the Paramount+ crime thriller series due to behind-the-scenes reports surrounding Hardy's role in the show. It was initially said that the actor had been fired, with Hardy not set to return for MobLand season 3, though after a series of reports, the Harry da Souza actor was confirmed to appear in the now greenlit season 3 of the show. Alongside him will be MobLand's other two main stars, Hollywood icons Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan. Despite the controversy, MobLand remains a massive hit for Paramount+, undisturbed by the reports, and its new streaming milestone is impressive.
