The Indian table tennis pair of Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTT China Smash on Wednesday.

Manav and Manush defeated the Chinese pair of Chen Junsong and Zhou Qihai 11-5, 11-6, 2-11, 7-11, 12-10.

Yesterday, Manav defeated French veteran Simon Gauzy 3-2 to enter the second round in singles.

Manav was part of the Indian contingent which featured at the Asiad, but couldn’t return with a medal. India’s sole table tennis medal was clinched by Manush and Diya Chitale, who bagged bronze in mixed doubles.
