There’s more than a single teardrop falling from her eyes. Ariana Grande revealed on Monday (Oct. 19) that Coco, her beloved dog of more than 17 years, has died.

“sweetest, most amazing and most beautiful coco … i am so proud of you. thank you for your love, and for blessing this planet with your physical presence for over seventeen wonderful years,” she began her Instagram post, in which she shared numerous photos of herself and her beloved pup from over the years. “you make everywhere you go a more beautiful place.”

She concluded her emotional tribute: “i will miss you every day and hold you in my heart always. i love you so, sweet girl.”

Among the snaps of Coco were several of Ari snuggling with her furry pal, one of the pup celebrating her 17th birthday with a bone-shaped cake, the pooch as a little baby, a video of her contemplating a “morning leap” from one step to the patio, and finally ending with a black-and-white image of Coco’s paws with a white rose.

Some of the three-time Grammy-winning artist’s friends shared their heartfelt condolences in the comments section of the post.

“Oh my love. What a gift you were to one another. 17 years. And I love that you said how proud you were of her,” TV host Ross Matthews wrote. “I so get it. I’m sending you every ounce of my love.”

“I’m sorry for your loss,” singer Leon Thomas penned. “Coco was the best.”

“sweet sweet coco,” wrote Ilya Salmanzadeh, a producer and songwriter who has worked with Grande on multiple songs over the years, including “Petal,” which reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August.

The singer, who boasts 10 Hot 100 No. 1 hits to date, has been open about her love for pups for a long time. “Dogs are the most harmless, sweetest babes in the world,” the pop star told Billboard in 2015. “They show nothing but unconditional love, so they deserve that in return.”

Grande is currently taking a break from her public-facing work after wrapping her Eternal Sunshine Tour in early September. However, Billboard confirmed in September that she would still be doing press for her upcoming movie, Focker-in-Law, in which she stars alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 25.
