Pokémon HeartGold & SoulSilver Officially Return February 2027

The Pokémon Company has confirmed that Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver are making an official comeback in February 2027 with the release of a new collector’s set that big fans of the remakes will want to snag. This year, the iconic creature-collecting series is completing its 30th anniversary and, with it, several releases are celebrating its games. We just got a new Pikachu redesign for Pokémon, for example, which shows the poster Pokémon for the franchise under a new lens. Additionally, several goodies are being released, celebrating the series’s history.

Now, we got a glimpse of a brand-new release centered around Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, released for the Nintendo DS back in 2009. The Gen 4 games themselves aren’t celebrating their 30th anniversary, but they are important installments in the series. As a means of highlighting them, The Pokémon Company is releasing two new items as part of an exclusive collector’s set, as seen on the official Pokémon Center website. The items are expected to ship in mid-February 2027. Unfortunately, no new orders can be placed right now, but the products will become available for purchase at a later date.

The new Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver package pins form a collector’s bundle containing two pins. One of them features the packaging for HeartGold, and the other is based on SoulSilver. These pins are replicas of the original Japanese packages of the games released for Nintendo DS. As shown on the product page, Ho-Oh and Lugia, respectively, as well as the logos, are bordered with “sparkle, giving them a glossy finish.” The set is a bundle, which means the pins need to be acquired together rather than separately.

The pin clutches for these products are designed to look like Poké Balls, further leaning into the premium treatment these items are getting. The pins celebrating one of the best RPGs on Nintendo DS are part of a larger collection, which has already seen the release of pins replicating the packaging of other iconic games in the series, like Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

For fans of what is arguably the best remake game ever made, these two new pins will be unmissable products. Even if you missed their pre-sale via the Japanese Pokémon Center website, they will be available later on, so you may just want to keep your eye out for when they return to stock – perhaps after the mid-February 2027 shipping.

With Pokémon Winds and Waves expected to arrive next year and tons of new releases in the series this year, it’s a great moment to be a fan of the franchise. The Pokémon Company is not only celebrating the titles that gave birth to the series itself, but also several other games, like Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, which made it so great over the years.
