Sophie Molineux, part of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s title-winning squad in 2024, was snapped up by UP Warriorz for Rs. 1.1 crore at the WPL 2027 auction. UP Warriorz opened the bidding at Rs. 50 lakh, but RCB stayed in the hunt, driving her price up to Rs. 95 lakh in just 40 seconds.
UP Warriorz raised the bid to Rs. 1 crore, prompting RCB to go to Rs. 1.05 crore before the Warriorz eventually secured the Australian all-rounder for Rs. 1.1 crore.
Molineux led Australia to the T20 World Cup title earlier this year.
She recovered from a hip injury and returned for the New Zealand T20Is after two months. She had missed WPL 2026.
