After a whole lot of confusion regarding the group stage standings in the men’s kabaddi event, we move to straightforward territory.
The Indian women’s kabaddi team will take on Japan in its final Group A match. The team has already sealed qualification to the semis, but can move to the top of the standings with a win here.

The Group A standings have been updated. Chinese Taipei will progress as the second team from the group with a points difference of -13.
Earlier, the standings had Japan in second with a positive points difference of +1.

Cai’s turn to raid and he too returns empty-handed. Devang comes in for a do-or-die raid and picks up a bonus point. Cai picks up a touch off point off Ayan.

The two Taipei defenders almost manage to pull Devang in with an ankle hold. The second defender looked to pull his teammate rather than concede a touch on Devang. Smart decision but that is one point conceded.

Xian-ya Peng takes another bonus point. Ashu Malik forces the left corner defender to mistime his ankle hold and picks up a raid point.
Four defenders on the mat and Cai fails to implement the thigh hold. After two successful raids, Peng is finally pushed into the alley by the Indian defence.

Sprightly raid for Chuang but he will return empty-handed. Ayan picks up a point after a badly-timed advance tackle.

Aslam attempts another kick, but this time the defender smartly falls to the floor and avoids it.
Jiunn-ming Yeh jumps at Deshwal and concedes a point. Xian-ya Peng is pushed into the lobby by Ankit on the left. Deshwal adds another with just two defenders on the mat.

Aslam Inamdar with a kick to the jaw on the left corner. Quickly puts his hand up to apologise. One point gained.
Arjun Deshwal is happy to take an empty raid. Cai follows suit, wanting a super tackle opportunity on Pawan.
And they’ve done it! Pawan almost had his fingers over the line, but the defenders rein him in.
