Dragon Ball Officially Announces The Return Of Super Gogeta

Gogeta has long been one of the most powerful and popular fusion characters in the Dragon Ball franchise, combining Goku and Vegeta into a warrior capable of overwhelming some of their strongest enemies. The character originally debuted in the 1995 film Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn, where Goku and Vegeta performed the Fusion Dance to defeat Janemba, although that movie was not considered part of the main canon.

Gogeta later returned in Dragon Ball GT as Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta, formed during the climactic battle against Omega Shenron and quickly becoming one of the series' most iconic transformations. It wasn't until 2018's Dragon Ball Super: Broly, however, that Gogeta was officially brought into the franchise's main timeline. The film saw Goku and Vegeta fuse once again to confront Broly, with Gogeta progressing all the way to Super Saiyan Blue and firmly establishing himself as one of Dragon Ball Super's most formidable fighters.

And now, after almost ten years since the last mainline appearance, Super Gogeta is officially making a return in a brand-new release on September 9 (via GN).

Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra is kicking off its first anniversary in a major way, with Super Gogeta officially joining the playable roster when Season 7 begins on September 9. The fan-favorite fusion of Goku and Vegeta will headline the anniversary update as its newest Hero, giving players another exceptionally powerful fighter to build teams around.

He will be joined by Android 19 as a new Helper for the Technical role and San-Shinron as a new Boss, with Boss characters also beginning to rotate every two weeks. Season 7 will additionally introduce new skins, emotes, anniversary login rewards, Special Passes, and several limited-time campaigns, including an offer allowing players to open as many as 140 free G-Capsules over the course of the celebration.

The one-year anniversary update falls just ahead of an even bigger overhaul planned for the end of 2026. Bandai Namco intends to replace the current top-down camera in Gekishin Squadra with an over-the-shoulder third-person perspective while simplifying several mechanics and making combat more action-focused and accessible.

Originally launched in September 2025, Dragon Ball Gekishin Squadra is a free-to-play 4v4 team-battle game that blends MOBA-style strategy with Dragon Ball's fast-paced combat. Players choose recognizable Heroes with different battlefield roles, work alongside teammates, level up during matches, and take on opposing players and powerful Bosses across several competitive arenas.
