Big Brother airs "eviction for the ages" - and fans are divided

The Big Brother house hasn't been short of arguments this year, with confrontations happening almost every day. But the rest of the season may be more harmonious, as the third eviction ended a long-running feud.

After being nominated this week, tonight's (2 October) episode saw rivals Rochelle and Johanne go head-to-head as they faced the public vote. The decision clearly divided fans, with the live audience booing and cheering for both housemates in equal measure.

Ultimately, it was revealed that Johanne had been evicted, and she was asked to leave the house immediately. But while parting ways, the pair still couldn't put their differences aside and refused to say goodbye to each other.

"Good f**king riddance. Ding dong, the witch is f**king dead," Rochelle shouted as Johanne made her exit. Later on, Johanne referenced Rochelle's send-off, saying: "I don't like her. Not a fan, she's not a nice person."

"[Rochelle] represents the bottom of the British society. British people are beautiful people, I love living in the UK. She does not represent the UK for me. That is not the British public, the English public that I love. She does not represent that," she added.

Meanwhile, fans took to social media to share their opinions of the result, with one user on X declaring it "an eviction for the AGES". But even those who were glad to see Johanne go, were unimpressed with Rochelle's reaction.

"I was happy with this result but Rochelle's attitude at the end, no need for it," said one, while another agreed: "I know they didn't get along but I think Rochelle was rude shouting at the end. Just let the woman leave!"

Some fans also predicted that there would be severe a lack of drama in the coming weeks now that the season's feud can rest, with one fan writing: "itv, youve just ruined your PERFECT chance to continue beautiful tv for the next few weeks."

"As much as people are saying thank god she's [Johanne] gone and good [riddance] we can't deny that she wasn't amazing tv and we all wish she stayed in until the final," wrote another disappointed fan.

Big Brother airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
