Good morning and welcome to another day on the ABC markets and finance blog.
Stephen Letts from the ABC business team limbering up for blow-by-blow coverage of the day's events, where every post is hopefully a winner, but none should be construed as financial advice.
Wall Street's benchmark S&P 500 closed flat but the tech sector had another solid session with the Nasdaq gaining 0.5%
The ASX looks like following up yesterday's gain with another positive session — ASX 200 futures at 7:00am AEST were pointing to a 0.2% gain.
We'll have Australia's manufacturing and services sector Purchasing Managers' Index readings for August a bit later
