Dudung Abdurachman urges inclusive development across Papua

Timika, C Papua (ANTARA) - Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Dudung Abdurachman has called for comprehensive development across Papua, stressing that its benefits must reach communities at the grassroots level.
During a working visit to Timika, Mimika District, Central Papua Province, on Tuesday, Dudung said he aimed to strengthen coordination among local governments, the military, police, and other stakeholders to accelerate development across the region.
“President Prabowo Subianto has mandated comprehensive development in Papua, reaching people at the grassroots level. I am ensuring this happens by coordinating relevant institutions to assess conditions across the region,” he said.
Dudung emphasized that security was a key factor in ensuring development across Papua could proceed smoothly.
He urged all task forces and Indonesian military and police personnel serving in Papua to prioritize the public interest over personal or group interests in carrying out their duties.
“Be loyal to the Red and White. The military and police come from the people and serve them, so their interests must come first. Put the public above any group or faction,” Dudung said.
He also called on security personnel to adopt an empathetic approach and engage with communities to encourage collective efforts to advance Papua.
“That is the president’s message. I hope local governments, the military, police, and all relevant parties will work together with a shared commitment to the nation and state,” he said.
During his visit to Mimika, Dudung held a coordination meeting with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), the provincial governor, district heads, and military and police officials.
He also inspected a Red-and-White Village/Urban-Village Cooperative in Limau Asri Timur, SP 5, Iwaka Subdistrict, and briefed Papua task force personnel and Joint Regional Defense Command III personnel at the headquarters of Infantry Battalion 754/Eme Neme Kangasi.
Dudung was accompanied by Joint Regional Defense Command III Chief Lt. Gen. Lucky Avianto, Mambruk Military Regional Command XXIX Chief Maj. Gen. Aminton Manurung, 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation Chief Insp. Gen. Faizal Rahmadhani, and Central Papua Police Chief Brig. Gen. Jermias Rontini.
