Translate

Eskom Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) Calib Cassim has officially retired after 24 years with the power utility.

Cassim’s retirement took effect on Saturday, 31 October, as previously announced on the Stock Exchange News Service (SENS) in October 2025.

However, he will continue serving in an acting capacity until his successor’s appointment becomes effective.

Played an important role

In a statement, Eskom said Cassim had played an important role in strengthening the utility’s financial position and advancing its long-term sustainability.

The power utility also highlighted its return to profitability as a significant milestone at the end of his tenure.

“Eskom’s return to profitability as he concludes his tenure is a fitting milestone and reflects his significant contribution to the company over more than two decades,” the utility said.

Wished him well

The Eskom Board and Executive Management thanked Cassim for his service and contribution, wishing him well as he enters retirement.

The utility said his continued involvement in an acting capacity would help ensure a smooth transition while the process to appoint a new Group Chief Financial Officer is finalised.

Eskom said it would provide further updates on the appointment in due course.
