Rachel Stockman Succeeds Dan Abrams as CEO of Law&Crime and Court TV

Translate

Rachel Stockman has been named CEO of Law&Crime and Court TV, replacing Dan Abrams in title. Stockman had previously served as president; Abrams will remain with the company as chairman.

Abrams had a three-year earn out from when he sold the Law&Crime business, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. That period just ended; Abrams sold Law&Crime for $130 million.

Law&Crime has a large online presence in the true crime and legal content spaces. Law&Crime has four FAST channels, millions of YouTube subscribers, billions of video views and more than 700 million hours watched across platforms over the past year, the brand says. Law&Crime acquired Court TV from Scripps in 2026.

Just last month, Law&Crime signed with WME for representation, as first reported by THR.

Stockman recently oversaw the launch of “Partners in Crime,” a programming initiative featuring six original series developed with popular true-crime creators. Stockman has executive produced dozens of documentaries and series for Netflix, Paramount+, A&E, Fox Nation and ID/HBO Max.

“Rachel’s ability to direct the business at the highest level while also making so many smart, granular decisions has helped lead us to where we are today,” Abrams, founder and chairman of Law&Crime and Court TV, said in a statement. “She has truly earned this. I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.”

“I’m incredibly proud of our extraordinary team and everything we’ve accomplished together,” said Stockman. “I’m honored to lead this next chapter as we continue to push boundaries, embrace bold ideas and help shape the future of media.”

THR profiled Abrams in May. The former court reporter will be plenty busy even with a more passive role at Law&Crime/Court TV. Abrams also serves as chief legal analyst at ABC News, founder and CEO of website Mediaite, host of SiriusXM radio series The Dan Abrams Show (SiriusXM POTUS) and host and exec producer of the cable series Court Cam (A&E) and On Patrol: Live (Reelz). Abrams even owns a winery (Ev&Em) and a Rotten Tomatoes-for-booze company The Daily Pour, as well as popular New York City restaurant Danny’s. In his nonexistent down time, Abrams writes books — he’s actively working on Scars, Sanity and a Six-Pack at 60, which is due out in January from Simon & Schuster.
