Four men arrested after violent altercation breaks out at Rahat polling center

Translate

Four men were arrested after a violent altercation broke out at a polling station in the Bedouin city of Rahat in southern Israel on Tuesday.

Video of the Election Day incident showed a number of men fighting, holding chairs, and one man lying on the ground seemingly unconscious.

The fight was reportedly not election-related but broke out when members of rival families arrived to vote at the same location at the same time.

Also in Rahat, masked individuals riding on horses and camels through the city were seen waving political flags and playing loud music.

Residents in the area alleged that Border Police officers were present at polling sites across various localities to ensure order as people arrived to vote.

Additional claims suggest that polling station staff are intentionally prolonging the voting process for individual voters by taking too much time to examine the identification cards presented to them.
