The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has extended the deadline for the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises to submit the player retention list by two days, giving them until November 17 to finalise their squads ahead of the mini-auction in Goa on December 16.

In a communication shared with the franchises on Monday, the BCCI informed them of the revised deadline, replacing the original November 15 cut-off.

The extension is understood to have been prompted by the India-New Zealand ODI series, with the fifth and final match scheduled to be played at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui on November 15. Interestingly, the auction itself will coincide with India’s second ODI against Sri Lanka at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The BCCI is yet to indicate rescheduling the ODI.

The BCCI has also outlined the timeline leading up to the auction. Player registration opened on Monday and will close on November 23. Franchises will have until December 1 to submit the list of players they wish to bid for, before the final auction register, including the order of player sets, is released on December 3.
